OK fellow bloggers this weeks theme on Twisted Mix Tape
Tuesday is the glorious 80's!
Since I am basically all about the 80’s there was NO WAY that I was
going to miss out on this glorious Blog Hop!
Thanks again to Jen Kehl @ www.jenkehl.com
for coming up with this fabulous idea!
So since I am basically dancing around in anticipation of getting this Aqua Net hair party started, I am just going to get this going…like right
now! So here you go blogosphere…my top five
80’s Hair Bands that Rock! You're Welcome!
Quiet Riot-Come On Feel the Noise-I remember getting ready
for school listening to this song and having to continuously rewind my tape so that
I could listen to it OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
Did I tell you that my tape deck was pink? Ah yeah…that’s kind of embarrassing…
Scorpions-Rock You Like A Hurricane-OK…so I cannot lie…I
used to party to this song…I hope that my mother is not reading this…if she is she might
NOW understand why I slept in SO much on Saturday’s and hated LOUD noises...well that totally equated to her constant Korean screeching that was aimed AT ME...yeah good times! HAHAHAHAHA!
Twisted Sister-We’re Not Going To Take It-This song reminds
of Coach Verner from the Breakfast Club…that dude was a douche!
RATT-Round and Round-So this is going to sound really scary…but
I used to listen to this song in my mother’s black Trans Am…on 8 track! Sheesh…that sounds SO OLD! Oh BTW…I totally
forgot that Milton Berle was in this video…totally hilarious!
Skid Row-Youth Gone Wild-So Basically we used to listen to
this when we were feeling a little bit rebellious…which was quite often…I lived
in a small town what can I say...we didn't have a lot to do! HAHAHAHAHHAAA!
So there you go blogosphere the top five Hair Band songs from
the 80’s…I am one tease away from Aqua Netting the crap out my hair, donning
a pair of 501’s with the knees ripped out, and bathing myself in Love's Baby Soft…yeah…I am just that cool…ummmm...not so much right?! HAHAHAHAA!
What am I listening to as I pen this bloggary: Wait, by White Lion.
Not a hair band fan, but that Twisted Sister video was a favorite. That song was an anthem. "I Wanna ROCK!" ;)
ReplyDeleteIt truly is...Dee Snider is well a little bit TOO 80's right? He kinda scares me now...
Delete:)
"...now drop and gimme 20!"
ReplyDeletethe high-volume segment of the 1980s! excellent sampling of the re-emergence of giant guitar music.
Why thank you very much! I tried to channel Sebastian Bach when I created this list! ;)
DeleteI love the Scorpions and they did an awesome version of this song with the Berlin Philharmonic that I keep on my iPod. Hair bands are definitely one of my favorite genres of the 80's.
ReplyDeleteOK...so now I am going to have to get on good ol' trusty iTunes and down load that version of the song! Thanks for that... ;)
DeleteI appreciate Skid Row and Ratt more than others. Those two songs are perfect for this list. I admit, I'm tossing my head around and bawling up my fists.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you there about Skid Row and RATT...there is just something about the way that they play the guitar that separates them from likem ummm...POISON! ;)
DeleteI have to add Def Leppard to this list. I've loved them since high school! And Skid Row is a somewhat distant second. I confess to wanting a nose / earring chain like Rachel Bolan had.
ReplyDeleteOH man...I really wanted to add Def Leppard to my list but I had to try to refrain from going crazy here...which I totally could because I am a total 80's FREAK! ;)
DeleteI loved all of these, but I didn't really know that Skid Row song. 80s hair bands rock!
ReplyDeleteYou totally need to listen to that Skid Row song...it kind of takes on a life of it's own once you are listening to it! It is really old school BUT so GOOD!
DeleteHa... a "Banger." Ahhhhh, the 80"s!!! Nice, Slu
ReplyDeleteYeah...I grew up in a small town so I kind of have an eclectic taste in music but hair bands are kind of my thing! ;)
DeleteYES! This list, is CHOICE!
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you...I really tried to BRING IT! ;)
DeleteComing over from Super Sunday Sync. Thanks for joining in. Following you via Bloglovin, G+ and GFC. Hope you will stop by my blog and follow.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week,
Bev
@ Eclectic Red Barn
Thanks for the follow...I will wander over and follow you!
DeleteWe both picked Quiet Riot because we're awesome. Righteous list.
ReplyDeleteOK..so you are now my new BFF! We are like TOTALLY AWESOME for putting that righteous band on our list! ;)
DeleteI LOVED LOVES BABY SOFT! Saw it at Walmart the other day and almost bought it. So hard to stop myself. I am guessing I knew you in High School and we hung out in the pit. "that's where we were allowed to smoke at my high school." I'm not saying you smoked. :-) But if you listened to metal and had big hair, that's where you hung out.
ReplyDeleteummmm....welll...yeah I kind of partied a little more than I should have BUT when you have a control freak crazy Korean for a mother you have to kind of let loose every now and again right? Oh and BTW...I saw Jean Na Te' at Wally World the other day and I was like NO WAY! I almost cried right then and there! HAHAHAHAAAAAAA!
DeleteI forgot to say, Awesome picture of the parachute pants! I miss those suckers!
ReplyDeleteOh you're welcome...those suckers were the 80's version of the yoga pant...so comfy! ;)
DeleteNominated you for an award, check it out At http://www.imnohumdrum-mum.com/2013/07/minion-army-pulls-in-another-award.html
ReplyDeleteOMG I so almost posted a photo of me wearing 501's with the knees ripped out but I was holding a cigarette and didn't want to admit that part of the 80's! Or, um, later. Or whatever. And isn't it amazing how much music affects us in our youth? The image of you getting ready to Come on Feel the NOISE! (girls rock the boys - we get wild, wild, wild...) brings me back. Thanks for a party-on excellent list.
