OK people in the blogosphere…this is part II of the glorious
80’s and I have to tell ya there are SO Many 80’s songs that are swirling
around in my head it's so NOT funny! So I decided to keep it simple and just go with the 80’s ladies that ROCK! Thank you Jen Kehl @ www.jenkehl.com for hosting this fabulous
Blog Hop! So let’s get this 80’s party started
before I put the finishing touches on my pink teased bangs and clip a feather to my long flowing locks! I am again…just that cool! So enough already...let’s get this crazy 80's themed party started!
Heart-What About Love-OK so this song makes me just want to
grab a mic, stand on a bar, and sing my out of tune heart out! This song is just that AWESOME!
Lita Ford and Ozzy Osbourne-Close My Eyes Forever-OK so Ozzy
is not a lady BUT sheesh in this video his hair is really a close tie to Lita’s
teased up locks! Either way…this song is
pretty good! Reminds me of hanging
outside in the high school parking lot right before class started…I can smell
the cigarette smoke from here! How PC were we right? HAHAHAHAAAA!
Joan Jett-I Love Rock N Roll-OK…so my sister and I used to
blast this in our living room and "air guitarred" our asses off! YIKES…what a visual huh? HAHAHAHAAA!
Pat Benatar-Love Is A Battlefield-I remember watching this
video on MTV and wanting to get her style on!
She has some pretty good moves too in that dance set as well!
Tina Turner and Bryan Adams-It’s Only Love-So Tina is just
the Shizz but when she sings this song with Bryan Adams, something seriously
comes over me and I again…feel the need for an out of tune sing-o-rama combined
with a little bit of…sigh…yes air guitar!
So sad…yeah I know!
Bonus Pick: Vixen-Cryin’-I
vaguely remember this band coming out in the 80’s BUT this video is just too
Funny to NOT post! Check out the outfits
and the hair on these chicks! Holy Crap
that is A LOT of leather and spiked hair/heels going on here! This is just Hilarious!
So there you go blogosphere!
The top 5 Rock N Roll ladies of the 80’s! I have to tell ya…that Vixen video is
inspiring me to dust off the ol’ leather skirt and fishnets…FOR HALLOWEEN! Yikes!
Seriously…that is a lot of crazy 80’s attire going on in that
video! SO SCARY!
What am I listening to as I pen this bloggary: Love Song, by
Tesla
Yee haw! Thanks for bringing the ladies to the party! The best thing about the 80's is we get the music videos! So good. So happy you included Joan Jett. And Bryan and Tina! Whoa doggy, you know it must have been a trip working with her, she's so totally over the top! Awesome list! Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteTina is just the SHIZZ and that voice matched with Bryan Adams on Guitar...well that is just musical nirvana right there! Thanks for the props for the list...I was trying to get the core of the great ladies of the 80's! ;)
DeleteAwesome post! It is bringing back so many memories. These fine ladies do not get the replay that their counterparts do these days. I loved their music and this just reminded me. Definitely going to download some today. http://www.mypersonalaccent.com
ReplyDeleteOh I hear ya...I have to tell you that I did download that Lita Ford/Ozzy song because I could NOT get it out of my head! ;)
Delete'I Love Rock n Roll' one of the all time best rock songs!
ReplyDeleteBeing guitar-tropic, (and scottian female lead singer-tropic), there is nothing to not like about Pat Benatar. I think I can 'name that tune' in 5 notes or less for any song on at least the first two albums... (even the Heathcliffe song). lol
Very enjoyable List!
Oh I LOVE that Heathcliff SONG! Props to you for knowing about that song...there are not very many that do! ;)
DeleteFantastic list and you definitely got the best of the best of the women rockers in the 80's!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if its funny or sad that I immediately knew what band that was in the opening picture. By the end of the 80's, that was pretty much my "look". Mild mannered preppy college student by day...hair, leather, fishnets and stilettos by night.
Oh HAHAHAAAAAAA! I was like...hmmmm...I vaguely remember these ladies coming out but then I saw the video and I was like Whoa...check out the stiletto's on those chicks and then it all CAME back to me! I used to have a pair of shoes like that...I think that I got them at Payless Shoe Source! HAHAHAAAAA!!! ;)
DeleteYour list is completely awesome. Love that Lita Ford and Ozzy (whose hair did look a bit girlish) made it. I must've listened to that song 1,000 times. And yee-haw to smelling the cigarette smoke in the school parking lot! Ha. I almost included a photo of me exhaling but then didn't want the haters hating on it so I didn't. Thanks for the excellent memories.
ReplyDeleteOh you so totally should have posted that pic..I would not have been hatin'...I would have been cheering you on! ;)
DeleteI was pretty sure that Lita, Joan and Pat could've each easily broken me, but that didn't stop me from hoping that they'd try... =)
ReplyDeleteHHAHAHAHAAAAAA! That is hilarious...you are probably right about those ladies being tough...I would not want to meet them in a dark alley...I would probably get my assed kicked! ;)
DeleteGive it up for the Ladies!!! Nice call on each tune. Although, Ozzy scared the hell out of me with that look!!! lol And just for grins: That was a whole lot of "something" going on in that last video...
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed, Slu
Thanks! I have to tell ya that Ozzie has some serious teasing and Aqua Net going on in that video right? I seriously do not need to even mention all of the questionable camera angles in that Vixen video...there were some serious sneak shot of lady bits...I'm just sayin'...HAHAHAHAHAAA!
DeleteYowza! Rawk on lady \m/(>.<)\m/
ReplyDeleteTHANKS! I really tried to get this list as Rock N Roll as I could...
DeleteI always got a kick out of that Pat Benatar video. When she dances in the alley with the thugs - so great!
ReplyDeleteI know right...she kind of does not have that whole choreography thing going on with her but the song makes up for it! I have to tell ya that I didn't understand what she was doing in that video (as a profession) until I was in my early 30's...I am such a LAME ASS! HAHAHAHAHAHAAA!
DeleteOh wow, you're right on the Vixen. Man. Hair! And that top picture could have been men except for the skirts. You just couldn't tell them apart. Ha ha!
ReplyDeleteThose ladies were pretty darn scary and I was like what is up with the crazy camera angles that are like total up the skirt booty shots? That camera man was totally a dude...or maybe he really likes fishnet stockings? HAHAHAHAAAAA!
DeleteYou said Commodore 64! HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA! I was not that cool...we just had an ATARI that played Pong, Centipede, and Asteroids! ;)
ReplyDeleteI forgot about Tina! How could I forget her? Your list is full of rockin ladies AND songs that will not be able to get out of my head for a while. The fashion. Oh, the horrible 80's fashion!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG the hair on those Vixen chicks is like a nightmare right? I totally FORGOT about the spiked heels with the steel spikes! Yikes that was one crazy look...and yeah...I have to admit that I had a short leather skirt too! So embarrassing! :\
DeleteOne of my first music memories is sitting in the back seat of my mom's mercury listening to Tina Turner. I also love that Close Your Eyes--FOREVER. My uncle-in-law used to be a bouncer, and said that Joan Jett swore like a sailor. There WERE some rocking ladies-You have inspired me to focus a post on ladies next week in the 90's.
ReplyDeleteI could see Joan Jett swearing up a storm and not giving a $#!T right? I have to admit that Lita Ford and Ozzy are in my iTunes Library...yeah...I couldn't help myself...the song grows on you and you just can't get it OUT OF YOUR HEAD!!!! I am glad that you like my list...I am looking forward to checking out your 90's ladies list next week! ;)
DeleteOh why on earth did I think all that big 80s hair looked cool back then!
ReplyDeleteI was a fan of Heart though and of course Ozzy.
Thank you for such a blast fromt he past : )
Those Wilson sister's have it GOING ON! I love Heart and of course Ozzy is just a given right? ;)
DeleteHere is where I admit that I almost totally missed the eighties. Too busy having babies! :) Thank you for the glimpse!
ReplyDeleteOh...well at least you didn't smell like Love's Baby Soft mixed with the stench of Aqua Net! Yowza...the 80's were a unique experience...you probably don't miss being part of any of these embarrassing nostalgic moments...I have PLENTY that I have to hide my head in shame over..sigh...! :\
